How will my order ship?
We use UPS, USPS and FedEx. Shipping is all over the board on the size of the package and the distance it is traveling with a particular carrier. We will figure this out on an order by order basis. However, most wedding favor orders do ship with UPS.
When will my non-engraved favors ship after I place my order?
Within 2 to 3 days. We keep a select group of favors on hand and bottle maple syrup weekly. This ensures that the syrup is freshly packed for your big day, and it helps us control inventory. Since we don't know from week to week what will be ordered, we may run short on an item. Because we bottle syrup weekly even if we are short, your order will be processed and out the door in a reasonable time frame. Not only that, but our customer service department will keep you apprised of any delays via email or phone.
The other consideration is when we schedul carrier pickup. To be as efficient as possible, we schedule pickups with our carriers several days a week. A pick up may or may not delay your order by a day or two.
When will my engraved favors ship after I place my order?
Engraved orders are sent out for third party fulfillment. We have a partnership with another small Vermont business owner who specializes in laser engraving. The turnaround time can be from 1 to 3 weeks of placing your order and your approval of the digital image of the personalization. Depending on when you placed your order and when we are going to drop off and pick up with the engraver, will also determine the turnaround time.
Again, same as in the above paragraph about non-engraved orders. To maximize efficiency, we schedule a pick up several days a week.
If I am local, can I do local pickup?
You sure can. Give us a call or email and we will help you set up a local pick up. We also meet wedding favor customers in a mutually convenient location throughout Chittenden County, Vermont. Someone from the farm is usually traveling in that direction once or twice a week.
WOW! How much is shipping?
We hear you! Pricing the shipping for wedding favors has been the most difficult aspect of setting up our online store to make it fair to everyone. We know you don't want to overpay and we don't want to get caught short.
Maple syrup favors, when bought in quantity are very, very heavy. Boxes typically weigh 45 - 50 pounds. The box going to Massachusetts ships from Vermont for much less than if the box is shipping to California. We've based our calculations on weight and distance and we are constantly tweaking the system.
If you think that a product isn't calculating the shipping correctly, let us know immediately. We will manually calculate the shipping and adjust, if necessary.
What if the shopping cart states that the order can't ship to my location?
I would say that the shopping cart doesn't know what it is talking about, especially if you live in the continental United States. We ship to all locations. Contact us and we'll work out the details with you. Occasionally, the gremlin that lives in the software likes to cause some trouble :)
Can my order ship freight?
Yes, we have carriers that we work with who can deliver your order via freight. You can also use your own freight account. There is a time when the order volume is heavy enough that it makes more sense to schedule a freight delivery service. We are equipped at the farm to arrange your order on a pallet, wrap it and tie it down.
Can I have my favors shipped to the venue or event planner?
Absolutely. Be sure to provide the correct information for the ship to address. In the notes section of the checkout give us any other information we need to know such as when you want the favors to ship and should we write something on the outside of the box to help staff at the venue. Every venue has their own policies in place for handling shipments from bridal couples. Find out what we need to know to make the party favors the smoothest part of your planning process.
Do you offer free shipping?
No, unfortunately, it is impossible to offer free shipping on items that are excessively heavy and ship in a large dimensional weight box throughout the country. We've done the best we can to get accurate shipping quotes that are fair to everyone and we provide a way to mitigate instances where the shipping is skewered. What we do offer is a wedding favor code of 15% off the cost of the favors, FAVOR15. Depending on where you live this discount can negate the cost of shipping and then some. It is the responsibility of the person ordering to get the coupon code into the cart at checkout. This is a one-time use discount code that is only available at the time of the sale and cannot be applied after the submit button has been entered.
What if there is damage?
When your order arrives, we suggest you unpack the boxes and inspect your favors immediately for any breakage. We've been packing large orders for decades and have a lot of experience in how to pack the boxes to keep your favors free of damage. As a matter of fact, we have a year-to-year loss of less than 1% of favors shipped. This gives us much confidence that your favors will arrive in perfect condition.
Occasionally, an order will have a few items damaged. Once your package leaves our hands, it really is out of our hands how it is handled. If there is damage to your order do not, and I repeat do not fret. We promise that we will do everything in our power to reship your order. First you will want to contact us immediately so that we can reship you to replace the damaged products and you can get on with your party planning and not worry. We do ask that you take some pictures and email them to us so we can file the appropriate insurance claims. We will need to see the number of damaged items for a final tally on our end.
